October of 1962 was when this "protest" occurred. Above is the cover of the New Guard Magazine for December/January following the president's visit. To the left and below is the article I wrote some 48 years ago about conservative activity when conservative activity was pretty rare. That's me on the right of the photo, making positioning assignments for my troops from a map of the airport grounds (when the airport was mostly grounds and a couple little yellow buildings). Bobby Knight would've been proud of my sport coat even though he was just out of Ohio State at the time and I had never heard of him.
